Jakes Jacobs, a former chairman of the Witbank branch from 2003 until 2006 and an Honorary Life member of the Southern African Coal Processing Society who served served on the committee for many years and was awarded the Society’s “Coal man of the year” award in 2012 passed away on 29 December 2017.
The first Technical Meeting of 2018 of the Southern African Coal Processing Society was held at the Colliery Training College (CTC) in Emalahleni on Thursday 25 January 2018
Presentations included ‘Toughened alumina ceramic wear linings and the utilization of Composites in processing plants’ presented by Cobus Kotze and Leon Harmsen (Groupline Projects) and ‘Developments in the Reflux Classifier™ Technology’ presented by Nicolas Boonzaier (FL Smidth)
